Hi Duncan,We have a lot of customers conmig in with Mazda 6 s with Denso pumps fitted, mostly suffering from SCV (suction control valve) faults. We have heard of some repairers recommending entire pump replacement but in most cases this isn't necessary. We can either send you the SCV to have fitted locally or please feel free to bring the car into us and we will be happy to diagnose the fault for you and effect a repairPlease e-mail to book in your vehicleRegardsRay RussellService Director

Your perceptions are not alwyas reliable for vehicle performance. Temperature, air density, octane, elevation and on board performance memory contribute to how your car works. The way a car starts can give some clues. work with the raw data you scanner can provide such as both fuel trim values, Air intake in grams per second, spark advance response, coolant temperature, mass airflow intake temp so on. try cleaning your mass airflow sensor and check o2 sensor oscillation rate
